Setting Up a Guest App for Vacation Rentals: Features and Pricing

A guest app for vacation rentals brings together a digital guest directory, local guide, and communication in one place. This guide explains what it involves and how hosts use it.

A vacation rental rarely comes with a front desk. Questions about WiFi, waste sorting, or local attractions often end up reaching the host by phone or WhatsApp instead. A guest app for vacation rentals is meant to catch exactly these questions before they even need to be asked.

What a guest app for vacation rentals actually does

At its core, the app replaces the printed guest directory with a digital version. Hosts store house rules, WiFi access, appliance instructions, and contact details there. Depending on the plan chosen, the app can also include a local guide, an event calendar, and a trip planner.

BELTURO's Start plan covers one property. It includes the digital guest directory, a dedicated QR code, a dedicated link, and the features Discover the Region, Events, Weather, and Forecast. Hosts who want to offer more service will find additional building blocks in the Region plan, such as custom branding, a trip planner, chat, and spa, restaurant, and room service. An overview of all the building blocks is available on the Features page.

How guests reach the app without installing anything

BELTURO is built as a web app, known as a PWA. Guests don't need to download anything from an app store. Instead, access happens via a QR code, for example on a stand in the apartment, or via a link in the booking confirmation. This spares guests the detour of creating store accounts. Hosts, in turn, don't need to ask which operating system a guest uses.

Using the app itself is free for guests. Anyone who wants to use features like the trip planner or chat sets up a free account for that purpose. According to the provider, this takes less than a minute.

Which plan suits which property

Not every vacation rental needs the same range of features. That's why BELTURO tiers its plans by size and requirements:

  • Start: one property, digital guest directory, QR code, dedicated link, Discover the Region, Events, Weather, and Forecast
  • Region: up to three properties, custom branding, trip planner, chat, spa, restaurant, and room service, custom events and tips, plus AI concierge
  • Pro: unlimited properties, multiple regions, custom domain, and a personal contact person, designed for groups of properties, networks, and regions

All paid plans can be cancelled monthly. There's no setup fee and no minimum term. Hosts running individual vacation rentals will generally be well served by Start or Region. Tourism boards and larger property groups will find that the Pro plan lets them cover several regions at once. Details on the tiers are available on the Pricing page.

How the AI concierge takes work off the host's plate

The Region plan includes an AI concierge. Rather than answering guest questions freely from the internet, it draws on the information the host has entered into the app. If a guest asks about waste sorting or a restaurant's opening hours, for instance, the concierge pulls from this information instead of making it up. That means the answers are only as reliable as the data behind them.

For hosts, this means: the more complete the digital guest directory, the more questions the concierge can resolve. That removes the need for the guest to follow up with the host directly.

Local guide: the Saxon Switzerland example

Beyond the guest directory itself, the guest app for vacation rentals also provides orientation in the surrounding area. BELTURO is launching with Saxon Switzerland as its pilot region. There, the app highlights rock towers, the Malerweg trail, boat trips, and the view from the Bastei as defining features of the region, along with restaurants, tours, and an event calendar.

Tours are shown with distance, elevation gain, and a GPX track, so guests can gauge in advance what a hike or bike tour involves. According to the homepage, trip plans that guests create are stored for one year. Which regions BELTURO already covers, or plans to cover in the future, is shown on the Regions page.

Language and branding are set by each property

Each property determines the app's language; examples include German, English, Czech, and Polish. This is particularly relevant for vacation rentals with international guests, since house rules and regional information can then be displayed in the appropriate language. From the Region plan upward, the app can also be designed with the property's own branding, making it feel like a genuine part of the property itself.

Frequently asked questions

Do guests need an app store download?

No. BELTURO runs as a web app in the browser, so no download from an app store is necessary. Guests open the app via QR code or link.

What does it cost guests to use?

Using the app is free for guests. For features like the trip planner or chat, guests simply set up a free account.

Which plan suits a single vacation rental?

For a single property, the Start plan covers the digital guest directory along with a QR code, Discover the Region, Events, and Weather. Anyone who also wants to offer a trip planner, chat, and AI concierge will need the Region plan.
